i just read this article, im so freakin happy after being so disapointed with hearing nothing about madden online i found this!!! www.pastapadre.com/1307/nhl-08-will-have-online-leaguesthe key quote that i read, that starts it all of is It has been announced that NHL 08 will include an online league feature on the Xbox 360 and PS3. So next year if VNHL chooses to be on 08 or 2k8 we'll have league structure either way which is so freakin awsome. I'm so siked now

k, so i read the article. the key points are:
- have as many players as you want - NO TRADES = huge disappointment (but u never know if theres way to work around this to get players to different teams) - FULL STAT TRACKING (although they say their working towards having more depth on NEXT years online leagues, they will still have full stat tracking in this one, which is the most important feature)

i gota say these graphics for nhl 08 are over the top phenominal, and the things i've seen of players cycling the puck and designing your own strategies and stuff look so sick. The question is, how are the goalies, and how sim will it or CAN it be with easy rules implemented as we did for this game
only time shall tell, but I think im gona rent this game first if I have the choice, it looks like the best LOOKING nhl game ever, I can't wait to play it

This looks like its going to be interesting and it does seem as if EA is taking this game seriously again - going to be fun to see what they come up with in this years release.
I was a big EA fan - I can count the NHL versions I have have... lol - so I am looking forward to lining it up with 2K8.
Should be an interesting decision to make for our league!

its actually a good battle it seems im switching games every 2 years. which is a great thing, and is the reason that madden has gone to the dumps, they don't compete with anyone anymore. but the nhl's have been competing and improving every year to keep up with eachother, its great

Being an EA junky since 1999...I have to say..that out of all of EA's games, 99 was the best one with SIM qualities. It just went strait downhill from there. After '06 being a disgrace to what an actual hockey game is, I switched over to 2k because I saw it on the shelf in my local gaming store and was confoundedly stumped on never knowing about another hockey game. With the right adjustments to the sliders and other options, I found I could make 2k7 the most realistic hockey game out of any of my other EA games.
Except '99...That one is still the best.
